SCLMM MISSION GIFT FUND

Definition: The dictionary gives as one of the definitions of mission “a local church or parish dependent on a larger religiousorganization for financial support.” Gift is defined as “something voluntarily transferred from one person to another without compensation.” This is exactly what the South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission Gift Fund Program is all about.
Goal: The “Mission Gift Fund” divides $35,000.00 or more, depending on the donations, between mission congregations in South Carolina. The Board of American Missions of the South Carolina Synod makes recommendations on the amount to be given to selected mission congregations.

SCLMM MISSION GIFT FUND REPORT 2006

This report is full of faith, caring, desire, and giving. Faith, because without it, the Mission Gift Fund would not be able to accomplish its mission. Caring, because of the hundreds of men that care enough and desire to see the word of the Lord disseminated to all who desire it or need it in South Carolina. Giving, because each year the hundreds and thousands of wonderful Lutheran men and women give more to ensure the mission churches can continue to grow.

The Synod Assembly had numerous elections and I want to thank each of you who gave of your time to serve as tellers. This is an annual opportunity to serve and each year the response is there. Each of you are truly mission oriented.

RECEIPENTS FOR 2006

Christ the King Lutheran Church, Greenville $ 11,150.45
Faith Lutheran Chapel, Pickens $ 5,575.23
Crossroads Lutheran, Indian Land $ 22,261.91

We all know that the SCLMM has been a cornerstone in the development of mission congregations for many years. Now with the Synod assuming full responsibility for Mission Churches, the SCLMM will truly be a key factor in the future of Outreach and Mission Development in the South Carolina Synod.
